How a Winetrail works: 4 stops, 4 wines, 4 stories

From the trail kit to the last glass: a look behind the scenes of a city wine walk in Lucerne, Zurich or Bern.

You have heard about Winetrails but are not quite sure how a city wine walk works? Here we take you through it, from the first click to the last glass.

1. Choose your city and book

First, pick your city: Lucerne, Zurich or Bern. Then choose a date. Walks always take place in the afternoon, Thursday to Saturday, starting at 1 pm or 2 pm. You can book from 2 people at CHF 89 per person. After booking you receive the trail guide with all the details about the starting point and the stops.

2. Pick up your trail kit and set off

Your trail kit with a bag and goodies is waiting for you at the starting point. The digital trail guide keeps the route, the hosts and the wines served on your phone at all times. From here on you explore on your own, as your own group and at your own pace.

3. Four stops with local hosts

The heart of every Winetrail is the hosts. At each of the four stops you get a glass of wine, from sparkling to red, along with a personal story about the business and the product. You have around 45 minutes per stop. And because wine questions are explicitly welcome, it pays to be curious.

4. Conversation cards for good conversations

At every stop you receive a conversation card. The cards spark new topics, whether you have known each other for years or are out together as a team for the first time.

5. Wine knowledge in bite-sized pieces

Between the stops we accompany you virtually with short, practical videos full of bite-sized wine knowledge. You pick up something new along the way without it ever feeling like a lesson.
